High-througput downlink on the Egypsat-A

We are very excited to report that the 1.2 Gbps X-band downlink subsystem, supplied by SAIT Ltd for the Egypsat-A satellite, was successfully tested.

The Egypsat-A satellite, built by RSC Energia, was launched on February 21, 2019. Several days ago, as a part of the qualification tests, mission controllers switched on the X-band transmitters and completed first downlink tests.

We are proud to state that our PRD3 transmitters are fully opertional and perform according to the specs. The link speed achieved is 1.2 Gbps.

To our knowledge it is one of the highest preformance downlinks to date, if not the highest, at least among non-classified spacecraft.
